Basic Concepts and Ideas for Developing a Web Site

This section provides an overview of the considerations that go into developing a web site. The basic ideas and concepts are covered. This section is rather large, but there are many considerations for designing a web site. It is important to remember that the ideas and concepts are recommendations only, and that to fulfill the purpose of the site, exceptions to these recommendations are sometimes required.

These pages are intended for clients of designers, to provide some of the basic considerations for developing a web site. These pages are not intended to, nor do they provide instruction on developing and designing a web site. For information on developing and designing sites, the reader is referred to the Worldwide Web Consortium, the WWW FAQ, and the Web Design Group.
