- Allentown
- Anilyse's Hava Java. It is located
directly across from the Nineteenth Street Theater, and within a half-block of the
Allentown fairgrounds. I don't know if everyone is gonna like it, but all my punk friends
from home and I hang out there. -PHERMAN@forest.drew.edu
- Lancaster
- 1 2 X U(320 N. Queen St.). Haven't been here yet. Used to be Punker
Than You, but then they moved and changed their name. Apparently they also put on shows
in the back of the store.
- Angry, Young, & Poor (140 N. Prince St., (717)397-6116). They
have loads of music here (CD & Vinyl). They also sell hair dye, jewelry, patches,
stickers, and shirts. They also have dresses, Docs, and other types of shoes.
- Checkered Past(6 N. Prince St., (717)299-6220). Vintage and
"unusual" clothing. Pick up Manic Panic here (dye, lipstick, nail polish, etc.). They also do body piercing and stretching.
- Corrupted Image Records(739 Manor St.,(717)391-PUNK). I love this
place. It has a great vinyl selection (really rare stuff for really cheap prices). None
of the CDs are over $12.98. Even if you're not going to buy anything, go just to hang out.
- DMZ(328 N. Queen St.). Lots of military surplus clothing.
- Zap!(315 N. Queen St.). This place
is overflowing with vintage clothes, accesories, furniture, appliances, etc. etc. Take some of it off their hands!
- Snydersville
- Snydersville Diner(Snydersville exit off I-80).
Good food, good prices, and sure it's a hick diner, but at least there aren't any drunken frat boys there
when the bars get out. -dhiggins@postoffice.ptd.net
- York
- Denny's(on Camp Betty Washington Rd., right off I-83, exit 7). Well,
I'm guessing everyone knows what Denny's is like. The best part about it is going in
really late at night and making fun of all the rednecks who come in.
- Funtastik(Greenspring Plaza, Mt. Rose Ave., off I-83, exit 7). A
skate-/snowboard shop (mostly skate). Where the skaters usually end up after school.
- Isaac's Restaurant & Deli(1290 Whiteford Rd., across from the Galleria, (717)751-0515).
Okay, yeah, I work here, but this is a FANTASTIC restaurant. They have a huge variety of
sandwiches, all of which are really really good. Go there.
- Round the Clock Diner(Rt. 30W, right off I-83, exit 9). This place is
a really nice diner. The food's pretty good, not too expensive, and the service is
terrific. Plus, they're used to punks in there, so you won't have to worry about being
harassed. Their onion rings are really greasy (yum!!).
- Salvation Army(Haines Rd., right off I-83, exit 7). Where else can
you buy a sofa bed for $15??? This is a very nice-sized store. Lots and lots of great
clothing. Plus, they sell bowling balls for $.99 (I'm really excited about that).
- 3D CD's(moved to the Olde Tollgate Village on South Queen St., in Spry).
As the name implies, this place sells mostly CDs. They have some 7"ers. The punk section
is pretty decent, but they could work on getting more ska.
